Uruguayan delegation of 16 technology companies participated in the largest technology event outside of United States Uruguay made a strong impression at Collision 2024, the technology event held in Toronto, Canada, which brings together more than 40,000 attendees from 140 countries.
\nThe participation of the Uruguayan delegation, led by Uruguay XXI and composed of 16 technology companies, demonstrated the country’s growing importance in the field of technological innovation.
\nThe presence at Collision is in line with Uruguay XXI’s strategy to promote the country as a business and innovation hub in the region.
\nAt this event, Uruguay showed its advantages as a provider of technological services aimed at markets in the region and the world.
\nThe official delegation was also made up of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Embassy of Canada in Uruguay, Uruguay Innovation Hub and the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI). <\/p>\n
“It was a great opportunity to show the characteristics that Uruguay has for the technology industry in particular,” commented the deputy director of Uruguay XXI, Eduardo Rodr\u00edguez about this new participation of the country in the great North American fair. Rodr\u00edguez highlighted the usefulness of the event to link with the Canadian ecosystem and other international markets, which helps companies to promote exports and attract new customers. “The evaluation of this participation is excellent,” he concluded. This year, Uruguay exhibited the achievements obtained after more than a decade of sustained promotion of technological activity. This continuous effort managed to position the country as a world-class business center, with notable advances. Among other advantages, Uruguay boasts exceptional connectivity and internet penetration, as well as being the largest per capita exporter of software in Latin America and the fourth largest in absolute terms. The country is home to more than 500 technology companies that provide global solutions and integrate a robust technological ecosystem, providing investment opportunities for the development of new businesses based on advanced technologies. This makes Uruguay an ideal place to innovate and test new technologies. This year, the companies Brocsoft, Brokerware, Pyxis, DaMap, FusionIT, GoGrow, Hacknoid, Kadabra, Kreitech, KSI Visi\u00f3n, Lightit, Press Start, Qubika, Step-up, Sunshift and Xenio participated in Collision and showed Uruguayan talent and innovation capacity on an international stage. <\/p>\n
Businessman \u00c1lvaro L\u00f3pez of Brocsoft, highlighted the value of the event for companies seeking to enter the North American market.
\n“I also participated last year and it helped me to gain experience. This year it is much more prepared and I managed to have 60 meetings prior to the event and then a lot of meetings here. You could say that it raises about 15 valuable contacts per day,” he said.
\nNicolas Erlichman of GoGrow highlighted the visibility that the Uruguay booth provided to companies.
\n“Coming to the event was incredible, I think the best of all is to have a stand from Uruguay as a country.
