Uruguay exhibited its value proposition in Buenos Aires: a strategic hub for regional business development

Before more than 100 businessmen and investors interested in business opportunities, Uruguay XXI and the Embassy of Uruguay in Argentina presented the advantages and investment opportunities offered by the country.
Buenos Aires was the setting for the successful “Value Proposition Uruguay” event, which was also held with great success in Santiago de Chile.
At the Amalia Lacroze Foundation in Fortabat, a delegation led by Uruguay XXI, Uruguay’s investment and export promotion agency, presented the country as a strategic and consolidated hub for the development of business platforms with projection towards the region and the world.
This meeting, organized by Uruguay XXI and the Embassy of Uruguay in Argentina, brought together more than 100 businessmen, investors and professionals from both countries.
Carlos Enciso, Uruguay’s ambassador to Argentina, highlighted the significant attendance of the public from both countries and the diversity of companies present, underlining the solid and historic bilateral relationship shared by both nations.
Sebastián Risso, executive director of Uruguay XXI, emphasized the strengths that Uruguay offers, based on its clear rules, transparency, reliability and stability.
“These are aspects that investors who choose Uruguay always highlight,” he said during his speech.
He also highlighted the ease of doing business in Uruguay and the excellent quality of life that Montevideo offers as a capital.
According to data provided by Uruguay XXI, Argentina is positioned among the four main countries that invest in Uruguay, motivated by geographical and cultural proximity, in addition to other incentives.
The most attractive sectors for Argentines in Uruguay include agribusiness, technology, real estate, tourism and, recently, biotechnology.
Sabrina Sauksteliskis, director of the Uruguay Innovation Hub, presented the instruments deployed by the program to promote projects in key sectors such as biotechnology, green technologies and advanced technologies.
He highlighted the crucial role of biotechnology in providing innovative solutions to global problems in food and human and animal health.
In the field of tourism, a particularly attractive sector for Argentines who historically choose Uruguay as a vacation destination, Remo Monzeglio, undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, presented current investment opportunities in the hotel sector.
The “Uruguay Value Proposition” event was attended by 48 companies, in addition to the minister in charge of the Commercial Department of the Embassy of Uruguay in Argentina, José Reyes, and the general director of the Investment Promotion Agency of Canelones, Adrián Míguez.
It concluded with a networking session between Argentine businessmen and representatives of Uruguay, including investment advisors, law firms, consultants and free zone operators, who traveled especially for the event in the neighboring country.
